Beyond the Lab

Science is my profession, but music and service are my passions. Here's how I bring healing through sound and give back to my community.

Music at the Hospital

Every week, I volunteer at the hospital playing music for patients. There's something powerful about bringing comfort through song to those who need it most. Whether it's a familiar melody that brings back memories or a gentle tune that eases anxiety, music has become my way of contributing to patient care beyond the research bench.

Why This Matters

As someone pursuing medicine and research, I've learned that healing isn't just about the science—it's about the human connection. Music therapy has been shown to reduce pain, lower anxiety, and improve patient outcomes. By combining my love for music with my commitment to healthcare, I get to see the immediate impact of bringing joy and comfort to people during their most vulnerable moments.

This experience has shaped my approach to biomedical research. It reminds me that behind every data point, every cell line, every algorithm, there are real people seeking relief, hope, and healing.

Mental Health Advocacy

Beyond music, I'm passionate about mental health awareness and supporting students through their academic journeys. Through my blog, The Inspire Blog, I write about mental wellness, personal growth, and navigating the challenges of pre-med life.

Mental health is often overlooked in competitive academic environments, but it's essential for sustainable success. I share my experiences, challenges, and strategies for maintaining balance while pursuing ambitious goals in STEM and medicine.
